Abstract
ASTM A 262, Practice E, tests were performed to study the sensitizatio n time-temperature and corrosion resistance of stainless steel (SS) al loy 315 SN used in automotive exhaust systems. A comparison was made t o type 321 SS. Alloy 315 SN was sensitized and severely attacked by in tergranular corrosion, though type 321 was not.
