Dielectric constants, densities and refractive indices of 28 organic l
iquids at 303.15 K and dielectric constants of four binary mixtures of
1,3,5-trimethylbenzene with n-heptane, n-octane, n-hexadecane and cyc
lohexane at 298.15 K have been determined using a microprocessor-based
digital LCR-Sortester. The data on pure liquids have been used to cal
culate the dipole moments by using the equations of Onsager, Kirkwood,
Syrkin and Jatkar. Similarly, the dielectric results of the binary mi
xtures are used to calculate the excess dielectric constants from the
dielectric mixing rules of the dielectric theories of Debye, Onsager a
nd Kirkwood.
