Bk. Rout et al., EXCESS PROPERTIES IN BINARY-LIQUID MIXTURES - TRI-N-BUTYL PHOSPHATE (TBP) AND 1-ALKANOLS, Indian Journal of Technology, 31(10), 1993, pp. 745-750
Excess isentropic compressibility (beta(s)E), excess ultrasonic veloci
ty (C(E)), excess acoustic impedance (Z(E)), excess intermolecular fre
e-length (L(f)E) and excess viscosity (eta(E)) have been computed from
the measured ultrasonic velocity, viscosity and density in the binary
liquid mixtures of tri-n-butyl phosphate (TBP) with 1-hexanol, 1-hept
anol, 1-octanol and 1-decanol at 303.15 K. The results are discussed i
n terms of molecular interactions between the component liquids in dif
ferent systems. The nature of variation of these excess parameters pro
vides information about the type of interaction taking place in these
binary systems.
