J. Plumacher et I. Renner, DETERMINATION OF VOLATILE CHLORINATED HYDROCARBONS AND TRICHLOROACETIC-ACID IN CONIFER NEEDLES BY HEADSPACE GAS-CHROMATOGRAPHY, Fresenius' journal of analytical chemistry, 347(3-4), 1993, pp. 129-135
Concentrations of selected volatile chlorinated hydrocarbons (VCH) wer
e determined in rain water and conifer needles by headspace gas-chroma
tography (HSGC) for the estimation of deposition and accumulation in t
he environment. Trichloroacetic acid (TCA), one of.the main degradatio
n products of VCH, was analysed as well. For this purpose decarboxylat
ion of TCA to trichloromethane was used. A modified standard addition
method (SA) for calibration with conifer needles is documented to show
its capability as a tool for calibration in solid matrices in general
. Results of current investigations are presented.
