Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography (PTC) and stenting is an est
ablished method for the management of malignant biliary obstruction. C
omplications include sepsis, haemobilia and bile leakage. A case of pe
ritoneal metastases following PTC and drainage in a patient with poten
tially operable carcinoma of head of pancreas is reported. This compli
cation has not been documented previously.
