Abstract
Dorsal penile nerve block has been used since 1977 to protide postoper ative regional anaesthesia for circumcision(1) and hypospadias repair( 2,3). The block may be given before operation or immediately after sur gery while the patient is still anaesthetized. The effect is limited b y the duration of action of the local anaesthetic agent used. A new me thod is described for administering an intermittent dorsal penile nerv e block after operation to prevent pain following hypospadias repair.
