Abstract
An object-oriented language for imaging applications - IL (Image Langu age) - based on a standard image algebra for complete support of Image Processing, is presented. IL combines the mathematical rigour of an i mage algebra with the benefits of the object-oriented paradigm. Moreov er, being defined as an extension of an already existing language, it allows the embedding of a highly specific environment into a standard platform without the need to define a new language from scratch.
