Abstract
The concerted application of high-resolution chromatographic procedure s, together with a variety of powerful structural methods including ch emical and enzymic degradation, mass spectrometry and NMR spectroscopy , has enabled the characterization of a wide variety of novel glycans. Structural research reviewed herein includes investigations of glycop olymers isolated from bacteria, insects, helminths, protozoa and highe r animals.
