Abstract
Whereas free acetylenic aldehydes react with (gamma-alkoxyallyl)diisoc ampheylboranes 3 with poor efficiency (<10% yield) and limited enantio selectivity, the corresponding -Co2(CO)6 complexes 1 undergo efficient (65-76% yield), diastereoselective (88->95% de), and enantioselective (>96% ee) coupling reactions with 3, producing (3,4-dioxy 1,5-enyne)C o2(CO)6 4.
