Ip. Klincare et al., ALIGNMENT-ORIENTATION CONVERSION BY QUADRATIC ZEEMAN-EFFECT - ANALYSIS AND OBSERVATION FOR TE2, The Journal of chemical physics, 99(8), 1993, pp. 5748-5753
This paper reports the observation of the molecular fluorescence circu
larity under irradiation with linear polarized light. The phenomenon a
rises as a result of partial transformation from alignment of the ense
mble of molecular angular momenta into orientation due to quadratic co
rrection to Zeeman effect. Circularity mte up to 0.05 at magnetic fiel
d 0.4 T was registered in B3SIGMA(u)-(1u-)-->X3SIGMA(g)-(1g-) fluoresc
ence of Te-130(2) molecules at angle pi/4 with respect to E vector Of
linear polarized exciting light. Quadratic magnetic energy terms are a
ssociated with magnetic field induced DELTAJ = +/-1 e/f mixing between
1u- approximately 1u+ and 1u- approximately 0u+ states. Circularity d
ata fitting shows that the electronic part of Lande factor caused by 1
u- approximately 0u+ interaction is equal to G+/-is-approximately-equa
l-to g(l)[0u\J(a+/-)\1u]+(g(s)-g(l))[0u\S+/-\1u] is-approximately-equa
l-to 2.72.
