A relative rate approach has been used to measure the reactivity of CF
3O radicals towards ozone. Using k(CF3O+NO2)=2.7x10(-11) cm3 molecule-
1 s-1 as the reference reaction, an upper limit of k(CF3O+O3) less-tha
n-or-equal-to 3 x 10(-14) cm3 molecule-1 was determined at 295 K and 7
00 Torr of O2 diluent. The implications for the atmospheric chemistry
of HFCs are discussed.
