Abstract
The combined techniques of fast atom bombardment and tandem mass spect rometry have been applied to the structural determination of macrolide antibiotics. Major fragmentation processes in the protonated molecule involve cleavage at the glycosidic linkages while more extensive ring fragmentation is also noted in the spectra of the sodiated molecules.
