Abstract
Treatment of lo[5.4.0.0(2,6).0(3,10).0(5,9)]undecane-8,11-dione with a queous sodium cyanide produced o[5.4.0.0(2,6)0(3,10).0(5,9)]undecane-8 ,11-lactam. ntacyclo[5.4.0.0(2,6).0(3,10).0(5,9)]-8-undecanone and -[5 .4.1.0(2,6).0(3,10).0(5,9).0(8,11)]-5-dodecanol were isolated as inter mediates. Structures were elucidated from extensive H-1 and C-13 n.m.r . studies.
