BISON (BISON-BONASUS) - ANALYSIS AND PERS PECTIVES OF STUDIES - PROJECT OF AN INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM OF THE RARE SPECIES CONSERVATION

The first stage of work on conserving the rare species was performed, namely, a threat of disappearing bison in the immediate future was eli minated. Nevertheless there are many problems concerning the long-term conservation of the species and replacing it to the present-day ecosy stems controlled by man. Analysis of these problems was performed usin g publications devoted to bison for the last 45-50 years. As a result. project of an international program of conserving the European bison is developed and suggested as a principal scheme which reflects the mo st actual and perspective practical problems of the long-term preserva tion of bison.
