Abstract
The title reaction has been investigated under pseudo-unimolecular con ditions with [phen]>[HSO3-]>[Fe(III)]. The reaction obeys first order kinetics in [Fe(III)]. The kinetics is interpreted in terms of an inne r-sphere reduction of Fe(phen)2(3+) via formation of the reactive inte rmediated Fe(phen)2-(SO3H)2+.
