Abstract
A general regular-type geometric model with both regular and non-regul ar weight factors is presented for quaternary and higher-order systems . It is thermodynamically strict for regular solutions and may be used in a semi-empirical manner for non-regular solutions in a systematic prediction of their thermodynamic properties and phase diagrams from b inary selected data. All known corresponding models such as the extend ed forms of the Kohler, Toop, Muggianu and Colinet models and many mor e new ones for the multicomponent systems are then demonstrated as its simple special forms with different weight factors.
