Abstract
This paper describes a method for direct quantitative analysis of orga nic additives in very small samples of polyethylene using methane chem ical ionisation mass spectrometry. Six different polyethylene formulat ions were prepared and compared with four commercial samples using mul tiple ion detection. Conditions needed for accurate and reproducible a nalytical results are described and the limitations and advantages of this technique discussed.
