P. Sedillo et al., CLINICAL-TRIALS AND GOOD CLINICAL-PRACTIC E - RESULTS OF A TELEPHONE SURVEY AMONG 867 DOCTORS IN WESTERN NORMANDY, Therapie, 48(3), 1993, pp. 243-248
In order to evaluate what doctor's think about clinical trials in gene
ral, 867 of them practicing in western Normandy were polled by telepho
ne. The majority of the doctors questioned (68,6 %) said they were int
erested in participating in clinical trials. Moreover, a number of the
m (71,7 %) had already taken part in such studies, most of which were
non-comparative studies on drugs already on the market. 66.2 % of the
doctors said they were willing to participate in such trials but only
10 % of the doctors questioned knew anything about Good Clinical Pract
ice. Doctors practicing in this part of France appear to know little o
r nothing about Good Clinical Practice, however, while they are willin
g to take part in clinical research, they are insistant that trials sh
ould be of worthwhile interest.
