Abstract
The structure of a new red pigment produced during the ''bleaching'' o f Chlorella protothecoides cells has been elucidated by analytical met hods as well as by in vitro isomerization into the new compound of a s ynthetic sample of a previously characterized chlorophyll a catabolite .
