Abstract
We report a case of severe Adenovirus type 7 pleuropneumonia in an imm unocompetent adult. The treatment required a mechanical ventilation wi th tracheostomy. The sequelae was a restrictive respiratory insufficie ncy. Adenovirus is a common cause of pneumonia in children, in militar y recruits or in immunocompromised adults. However, it is an infrequen t cause of such a severe complication in a healthy adult.
