Diisopropylidenecyclobutene reacts with (CH3CN)3Cr(CO)3 to give the et
a6-coordinated complex (eta6-diisopropylidenecyclo-butene)Cr(CO)3 (8).
An X-ray structure determination confirms the eta6-coordination of th
e ligand with two long Cr-C(exo) bonds (248.2(5) and 259.0(4) pm). Dim
ethylenecyclobutene and (C9H7)Rh(C2H4)2 (C9H7 = indenyl) react to give
bis(eta2-dimethylene-cyclobutene)Rh(eta5-C9H7) (9) with two eta2-bond
ed cyclobutene ligands as shown by an X-ray diffraction study.
