Abstract
A recently derived wave function for three charged particles in the co ntinuum is presented, which is a solution of the Schrodinger equation in the region rho(alpha) --> infinity, r(alpha)/rho(alpha) --> 0, wher e r(alpha) is the distance between the particles beta and gamma, and r ho(alpha) denotes the distance between the center of mass of the pair (beta, gamma) and particle alpha (alpha not-equal beta not-equal gamma ) It has the desired property of joining smoothly to the known asympto tic wave function in the domain where all three interparticle distance s r1, r2, and r3 go to infinity.
