Abstract
The SAMPEX Data Processing Unit provides overall control of the scient ific payload while acquiring, combining, and compressing science data to produce the science telemetry for the mission. Section I of this pa per describes data manipulation techniques employed to intelligently u se the on-board recorder storage. Some key features of the Data Proces sor design are given in Section II.
