Abstract
The automation of water treatment plants has now become a necessity. I t improves operation conditions, plant performance, assist supervision and reduces the risk of human error as well as improve the operationa l safety. In this paper a brief description of the existing convention al techniques as used for chemical control is given. The problems face d for the control loops design and the possible improvements that can be made to automate the water treatment processes are described.
