Gr. Pieris et Gh. Sasaki, PERFORMANCE OF THE GO-BACK-INFINITY PROTOCOL UNDER CORRELATED PACKET LOSSES, IEEE transactions on communications, 41(5), 1993, pp. 660-663
We study the Go-back-infinity protocol under a two-state Markov chain
packet-loss model, where the delay for packet acknowledgments is rando
m. Expressions are presented for the z transform, mean, and variance o
f the time tau taken to successfully transmit N packets. In addition,
we discuss how the probability distribution of the delay for packet ac
knowledgments can affect E[tau].
