The work described in this paper deals with the experimental data of i
nvestigations on syngas production by using the plasma coal gasificati
on process: H-2-50%, CO-48%, (H2O + CO2) < 2% and application of the g
as produced for iron reduction. General schemes of power technological
processes, including power and heat production processes simultaneous
with syngas production at an environmentally clean thermal power stat
ion by using a combined coal treatment process in a plasma thermic rea
ctor are investigated. The above-mentioned process allows us to reduce
by 10 times air pollution with nitrogen and sulphur oxides when produ
cing power. The possibility of considerable capital investment saving
in the production and its infrastructure is shown on the base of syste
m analysis. Methods of syngas application in blast furnace or direct r
eduction and methods of all-round ash and slurry utilization are revie
wed.
