Abstract
Transalkylation of benzene with heavy alkylbenzenes, consisting of dia lkylbenzenes and diphenylalkanes (C-10-C-14 alkyl chains) to give mono alkylbenzenes has been studied in liquid phase using Nafion-H as a cat alyst. A model heavy alkylbenzene substrate, 1,4-di-(2-dodecyl)benzene has been synthesised. Transalkylation of benzene with 1,4-di(2-dodecy l)benzene has been studied in the presence of Nafion-H and anhydrous a luminium chloride.
