Abstract
Included water is a constituent of fossil corals. We observed the exis tence of two types of water, adsorbed and included. (1.7%) when aragon ite is the only phase of corals. A decrease of water content is determ ined when the percentage of calcite in the samples is increased. Data are obtained by different methods such as infrared spectrometry, X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetry.
