Experimental results on RF power absorption due to lower hybrid resona
nce with anisotropic plasma temperature are presented. It has been sho
wn that when the wave vector is transverse to the applied magnetic fie
ld, the plasma heating occurs along the perpendicular direction where
the anisotropy in the temperatures was expected. Drift wave was observ
ed and it led to a stochastic heating near the resonance layer causing
an isotropy on the temperature.
