Gm. Long et Md. Jones, THE EFFECTS OF SMOKELESS TOBACCO (ORAL SNUFF) ON DYNAMIC VISUAL-ACUITY, Bulletin of the Psychonomic Society, 31(6), 1993, pp. 613-616
The effects of the use of smokeless tobacco (oral snuff) on observers'
ability to resolve moving targets were assessed under four levels of
target velocity for both light and heavy tobacco users among college s
tudents. Each observer was tested in several sessions, half immediatel
y following the use of tobacco and half with no preceding tobacco use.
No differences were found across the two types of sessions for any of
the velocity conditions. The results are discussed in terms of the pr
actical consequences of nicotine nystagmus reported by previous invest
igators.
