Abstract
We have isolated and cloned a 4.5-kb fragment containing the structura l gene of glutamate decarboxylase from an overproducing strain of Esch erichia coli. Sequencing of this fragment is in progress. The time cou rse of glutamate decarboxylase expression has been also investigated.
