Abstract
A new parameterization formulation of thermally forced drainage flow w as derived in the present study. The parameterization was tested with both the numerical model simulation results and the observational data available from recent papers. The verification indicated that the par ameterization formulation can quite well reproduce the structure of dr ainage flow.
