SOME TYPICAL FEATURES OF RELATIVISTIC BOUNDARY-CONDITIONS ACROSS DELTA-FUNCTION POTENTIAL

A unified perspective for boundary conditions concerned with (1) direc t relativistic treatment of one-dimensional delta-function potential a nd (II) delta-function limit of results for relativistic treatment of peaked potentials (PP) has been developed. Further, a representation o f delta-functions which leads to boundary conditions pertinent to dire ct relativistic treatment of delta-function potentials has been indica ted. Finally, we discuss our findings critically; among other things, we note that it is difficult to make a choice between approaches (I) a nd (II) on the basis of mathematical analyses alone and that taking re course to experiment may be fruitful in this regard.
