Single crystals of WSSe, grown by direct as well as chemical vapour tr
ansport, have been utilized as photoelectrodes in the fabrication of p
hotoelectrochemical solar cells. The influence of intensity of light i
llumination on the efficiency and fill factor of the cells has been in
vestigated. The photoresponse has been found to decrease considerably
when crystals showing the presence of screw dislocations have been use
d in the fabrication of solar cells.
