Abstract
A traceless linker was developed on a soluble polymer support. The met hodology allows for the facile attachment of molecules possessing an a lkyl halide appendage. The coupled molecule can be further functionali zed before subsequent cleavage via a two-step oxidation-reduction sequ ence. This sequence allows for the synthesis of molecules containing n o trace of the linker and the formation of a new C-H bond. (C) 1997, E lsevier Science Ltd.
