Stobadin, a new prospective cardioprotective drug, was evaluated for i
ts effects on prenatal development, behaviour of pregnant rats and the
ir offspring. Daily oral treatment of pregnant rats with 50 mg/kg stob
adin from day 6 to 15 or 20 of gestation had no overt effects on dams,
embryo-foetal development or reproductive parameters. In the habituat
ion test of pregnant rats and their offspring no differences in compar
ison to controls were observed in the evaluated parameters of behaviou
r, except slow-down of habituation (adaptability to the surrounding of
the experimental cage).
