Sv. Belikov et al., PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SOFG-120 POLYMETHYL METHACRYLATE SCINTILLATOR, Instruments and experimental techniques, 36(3), 1993, pp. 386-389
We studied the properties of a polymethyl methacrylate scintillator th
at is used in the high-performance scintillation trigger device of the
liquid-argon neutrino detector of the Tagged Neutrino Experiment. The
following main characteristics are obtained for the SOFG-120 scintill
ator (approximately 85% of PMMA, 14% of naphthalene, 0.8% of PPO, and
0.08% of POPOP): the luminescence spectrum; the light yield (50% from
the light yield of NE 110); the luminescence decay time (4.8 nsec); an
d the attenuation length of the intrinsic light (congruent-to 1 m for
a strip of 1265 x 333 x 22 mm).
