Abstract
Both enantiomers of optically pure propargylic alcohols are convenient ly prepared by the reaction of alpha-vinyl anion of 2-(trimethylsilyl) vinyl p-tolyl sulfoxide with aldehydes and subsequent either desilylsu lfinylation or thermal elimination of the sulfinyl group.
