CuCl-catalyzed polyaddition of arenedisulfonyl chloride to diethynyl c
ompound was performed to produce polysulfones consisting of sulfonyl g
roups between arenylene and chlorovinylene groups. The polyaddition pr
oceeded via both trans and cis addition, whose proportion was affected
by the polarity of the reaction medium, the presence of triethylamine
.HCl salt, and the nature of the monomer. (C) 1993 John Wiley & Sons,
