An impulsive ion source with an end-type evaporated anode is described
. The results of the study of spatial stabilization of the double elec
tric layer are presented. In an electric field of the double layer, ch
arged particles are accelerated. An electron beam produces thermal eva
poration and ionization of the anode material. An ion beam with an ene
rgy corresponding to a discharge voltage of 3-10 kV, a current of 10-1
00 A, and pulse duration of 10-50 mu s is obtained.
