The dielectric properties of ethane-1,2-diol (1) + 2-methoxyethanol (2
) + water (3) were measured in the range 30 less-than-or-equal-to t/de
grees-C less-than-or-equal-to 50 and for 66 ternary mixtures covering
the whole miscibility field (0 less-than-or-equal-to x1/x2/x3 less-tha
n-or-equal-to 1). The epsilon values were analyzed by some empirical e
quations based on the pure-component properties for the ternaries stud
ied. A comparison of the experimental and calculated data shows that t
he selected equations can be safely employed to predict the dependence
of epsilon on the temperature and on the composition of the systems s
tudied when binary and/or ternary experimental data are not available.
