Abstract
A new optical correlation method is developed for measuring the scatte ring-particle size distribution function. The method is based on the t ransformation of the transverse coherence function of the scattered fi eld that forms the scattering-particle images. A device for measuring the scattering-particle size distribution function is proposed that ha s a response time of about 10 s and can be applied to measure particle s with sizes in the range of 3 to 500 mum to within 10%.
