Abstract
The absorption, luminescence and excitation spectra of Cr3+ ions in Be Al6O10 crystal are presented. Lasing due to electron-vibrational trans itions of Cr3+ ions (4T2-->4A2) has been obtained in the range of 0.78 - 0.92 mum under flash lamp pumping.
