Abstract
An active optical system with a conjugated with a discharge tube of a He-Sr recombination laser emitting in the blue region (430 nm), which is used as an amplifier, has been tested for the first time. A high-co ntrast magnified image convenient for observation has been obtained. I t has been demonstrated that for active image formation not only laser s with high gain can be used, but those with a relatively low gain (0. 05 cm-1) and a rather long population existence (150-200 ns) too.
