Abstract
Target testing method (TT), and two versions of principal component an alysis (PCA1 and PCA2) were compared in order to evaluate their useful ness in estimating pK(BH+) and m values of a weak base, 2-hydroxybenzo ic acid. PCA1 uses measured molar extinction coefficient values centre d around the origin of data, while PCA2 makes use of those data centre d around the mean. It has been concluded that the most reliable pK(BH) and m values were obtained by TT method.
