Abstract
The visible, infrared and H-1 NMR spectra of the cis/trans-[Co(en)Cl2] Cl isomer pair were examined in aqueous, alcoholic, DMSO and DMF solut ions. The spectrum of the cis isomer is the same in aqueous and non-aq ueous solvents, whereas in the spectrum of the DMF solution of the tra ns isomer a high-intensity, complex, new band system appears above 182 00 cm-1, which is characteristic of tetrahedral Co(II) complexes.
