Ay. Khan et Hd. Ball, EXPERIMENTAL PERFORMANCE VERIFICATION OF A COIL-TYPE LIQUID DESICCANTSYSTEM AT PART-LOAD OPERATION, Solar energy, 51(5), 1993, pp. 401-408
An experimental study was conducted to compare the predicted performan
ce of a commercially available coil type liquid desiccant cooling and
dehumidification system with the experimental results at part-load con
ditions. A mathematical model was used to predict the performance of c
oil type liquid desiccant system. This model was based mostly on the m
anufacturer's catalog data. The coil type system used in the experimen
tal study was a system manufactured in the U.S.A. The system is commer
cially available as 200-10 KXCb, 10-row deep conditioner unit with a d
esign air flow rate of 1180 1/s (2500 scfm). For regeneration of the s
olution, a packed type 3.0-P regenerator unit with a design air flow r
ate of 448.4 1/s (950 scfm) was used.
