This paper presents a procedure for dispatching reactive power when vo
ltage deviations are not acceptable. The proposed method, intended for
real-time use, determines which control variables are actually effect
ive for solving voltage violations. Efficiency is measured according t
o sensitivities, current voltage profile and reserve margin of control
variables. The selected control variables are rescheduled in proporti
on to their efficiency coefficients. State-of-the-art sparsity techniq
ues are used to speed-up computation of sensitivities. An example is i
ncluded to show effectiveness of the method.
