J. Matschke, DETECTION OF SPECIFIC PHYTOHORMONES IN TH E BIOMASS OF HEALTHY AND TOSHOOT ANOMALY INCLINED PLANTS OF BLUE SPRUCE, Gartenbauwissenschaft, 58(4), 1993, pp. 169-176
In connection with the appearance of deformed and in sprouting inhibit
ed apical buds, and plagiotropic growth leading shoots hormone trials
were conducted on affected spruce in comparison to healthy ones. In co
mparison to healthy specimens of Picea pungens glauca the hormone prop
ortion of cytokinins to auxins in the tissue of damaged plants is clea
rly reduced. The shifting of hormone proportions, in particular in the
pith and meristem tissues of these plants, results from a reduced cyt
okinin and increased auxin content. The causes of these changes are di
scussed.
