El. Goldstein et al., SUPPRESSION OF DYNAMIC CROSS-SATURATION IN MULTIWAVELENGTH LIGHTWAVE NETWORKS WITH INHOMOGENEOUSLY BROADENED AMPLIFIERS, IEEE photonics technology letters, 5(8), 1993, pp. 937-939
Amplified multiwavelength lightwave networks are prone to substantial
saturation-induced crosstalk when a channel is turned on or rerouted,
perturbing amplifier gains at other wavelengths. Such crosstalk is str
ongly suppressed in-cascades of cooled, inhomogeneously broadened fibe
r amplifiers.
